The Apple Vision Pro torture test is hard to watch yet quite instructive.

The $3,500 Apple Vision Pro was soon to be used by anyone for “experimental purposes.” After all, the Internet is a great place. If you can’t handle tech gore, you probably shouldn’t watch the video.

Joking aside, the film offers some genuinely insightful information about the headset’s overall durability, though it’s by no means scientific. The good news is that, for the most part, you shouldn’t have any problems with normal use.

The Vision Pro handled minor scratches and dents with ease. Barring a few scratches on the front glass, the gadget was in excellent condition and worked flawlessly.

It’s interesting that the big curved glass on the front isn’t there because you have to be careful when handling drops. It, as we mentioned, went very well. Even so, a few drops in one of the Vision Pro’s speakers failed catastrophically.

It appears that there is a weak spot in the headband around the user’s ears and speakers. A fragile hinge that appears to be hidden within the gap caused some damage to the video and even began to peel away from the covering material.

The most important point to note is that there is no secure connection between the light cell and the headset. It seems to be held in place only by magnets. This means that, regardless of how practical it may seem, you should not lift the Vision Pro through a light shield. It will come loose, sending the precious tool hurtling toward the ground.

In any case, we suggest you watch the entire movie as it has some interesting revelations regarding the front glass of the gadget. We won’t give anything away, but you could argue that it’s “optional.”
