GM has revealed the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox in Detroit, showcasing a new rugged design and introducing standard heated seats. The move is part of General Motors’ strategy to elevate the Equinox, making it more appealing to a broader market. The 2025 model, unveiled on Tuesday, comes with additional standard safety and convenience features.
Brad Franz, director of Chevy car and crossover marketing, emphasized the significance of the product introduction, aiming to maintain the Equinox’s position as the No. 2 Chevy volume vehicle. Despite the challenges posed by the past two years, with sales remaining at over 212,000 units, GM remains optimistic about the Equinox’s market share in the industry.
The upcoming Equinox will feature heated seats and a heated steering wheel as standard across all models, marking a first for the Equinox and many mainstream brands. GM’s decision aligns with the preferences of approximately 90% of surveyed owners who expressed a desire for these features. The 2025 Equinox is expected to be available in three trims: LT, RS, and Activ, arriving in dealer showrooms midyear.
Customers often cite price and value as compelling reasons to choose the Equinox, with the entry-level LT anticipated to constitute around 60% of sales. Despite the shift toward an upmarket positioning, GM remains committed to delivering value to customers.

Chevy Equinox Design changes
Chevy Equinox 2025 Design changes include an exterior with a large hour-glass grille, a sculpted design, and slim front and rear lights. The interior enhancements focus on increased spaciousness, achieved by relocating the gear shifter to the steering wheel column, adopting a “shift by wire” technology for smoother gear changes. Technological upgrades include an 11-inch diagonal configurable driver information center and an 11.3-inch diagonal infotainment screen.
Production of the 2025 Equinox will take place in Mexico, providing GM with the flexibility to scale up production if needed. The vehicle will continue to be powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine, offering 175 horsepower and 203 foot-pounds of torque, with standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive.
