Warning: This is what everyone else says you should do. However, dipping your wet iPhone in rice is not the best thing for your gadget.

This is a technical version of an old-fashioned remedy. However, Apple has publicly stated otherwise. It seems that putting your latest iPhone in a bag of rice won’t help it stay wet.
According to Apple’s latest recommendations, dropping your wet iPhone into rice won’t do any more than a pot of chocolate tea. It can also be harmful. A recently released support document, discovered by Macworld, cautions against some common mistakes people make when their iPhones get wet.
Avoid the urge to use compressed air or an external heat source to destroy your iPhone. Remember that you are not cleaning your ears, so keep paper towels and cotton swabs away from the connector. The worst thing is that you don’t throw it in a bag of rice. why not? You all know that rice grains are microscopic grains in size that can wreak havoc on your phone.
Then what should you do? According to Apple, your new best friend is patience. To remove excess liquid, gently tap your iPhone on your palm while the connector is facing down. Then, let it cool in a dry place with some air movement. You can try connecting an accessory or using a Lightning or USB-C cable to charge it after waiting at least thirty minutes.
If you see a liquid alert again, you’ll have to spend another day in the waiting room. During this time, you can continue to try to connect or charge an item. Your iPhone may need a full day to dry properly.
Try the tried and true method of “unplugging and replugging” your phone using both the cord and the adapter. If it still doesn’t work, it’s time to call Apple Support – after all, they’re professionals. Although recent iPhone models are IP water resistant, water damage is still possible. Best guidance?
